SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
About the Scholarship
The Canadian Fellowship has created a Named Scholarship with Scouts Canada Foundation in 2010 which was to be awarded annually to a youth member of Scouting. This scholarship was for $1,000.00 and would be awarded alternately (East or West) to a youth within Canada.
The recipient of the “Canadian Fellowship of Baden-Powell Guilds Scholarship” must be an active member of Scouting and be under the age of 26 on January 1st of the year of the application, and attending a university or college. Scouts Canada Foundation and their volunteers will make the selection based on the applications submitted. The Scholarship will be named the “Canadian Fellowship of Baden-Powell Guilds The $1,000.00 is sent directly to the University or College named in the application. A Baden-Powell-Guild in the area of the recipients’ home town will present a Certificate and submit pictures of the presentation to Mamook Papah.
In 2014 the Executive Council authorized a second $1,000.00 Scholarship to be awarded annually.
In 2019 the Executive Council authorized a third $1,000.00 Scholarship to be awarded annually.
Currently, a total of 3 Scholarships are awarded annually – one in the west (provinces west of Ontario), one in Ontario, and one in the east (provinces east of Ontario).
